Ale, lagers & ciders

Every late September, Ipswich is host to a local beer festival where one can come and taste a myriad of different ales, lagers and other fruity ciders. Last night was therefore the lads' night out!
Alex, my German roommate, and I show up at about 8:30PM and while we wait for the rest of the gang to show up, we get acquainted. I've only barely met him last Monday when I popped round Bar 19 for the first time. He works for the same company as we all do - pretty much pointless to state that. Apparently he's a Java expert. Pretty good sense of humo(u)r!
Well of course being German, he made me be on time - or perhaps early - and we waited for the others, among whom an Italian dude who would turn up invariably late - just to make a point out of the fact he's Italian...
Alex and I eventually decide to go in and tour the different bars and why not sip our first beer. We settle down for a fruity Grapefruitlike beer. It felt rather smooth and grapefruity as one would expect. Nonetheless, the flavor is rather intriguing for a beer.
The rest of the lads eventually turn up, and amidst the beer madness, we settle down for a spot of dinner before cruising down new alleys, seeking for new tasty ales.
Mathias, another German fellow, and mad lover, peruses through the array of beer collectibles, from bar towels to glass mats... He runs from stand to stand like a happy child..
As British custom has, once the clock strikes eleven on the clock, the bars shut down and the happy beer amateurs are ushered out into the street. Alex and I make our way home and promptly go to bed.

A week later, the festival's guide to the beers became a powerful fly swat in the hands of Sandra wildly chasing down a two-winged bug in her room.
